Andrey and Karen’s destination wedding in Spain was absolutely gorgeous! They chose a private villa in Sitges, just south of Barcelona to hold their destination wedding. Friends and Family came from all over the world to celebrate with them. Their wedding took place back in late August. I am so excited to finally be writing about this stunning wedding. This beautiful wedding was featured on Fly Away Bride.
Andrey was a Russian foreign exchange student. I met him when he was in high school because he came to live with my family. He then moved to the east coast for college and work. Karen is originally from New Jersey. The two of them met running in New York City. It was a pleasure getting to know Karen and I’m so glad I was able to come to their destination wedding in Spain. I was elated that they asked me to be their photographer.
The wedding took place at Villa Casanova. It gorgeously overlooked Parc Natural Del Garraf. They had a weeks worth of celebration and events for their guests. The wedding took place in the middle of the week. Everything about their wedding day celebration was beautiful. Their flowers were made by a wonderful Spanish Florist called Flors Amelia. She worked great with the caterer, Catering Sensacions. They made a beautiful tablescape for the entire wedding. The colors and details on the table were gorgeous. Last but not least was the event planners who did a wonderful. Their company is called A Spanish Do. Their rings were unique just like them. Instead of getting traditional rings that touch they chose to pick rings that are left open, symbolizing that Marriage isn’t the end of their journey but just the beginning. The space in the rings is left open to show that more adventure is awaiting them together.
The Ceremony took place in front of the infinity pool with the Natural park in the background. Their reception took place next to the villa, their entire event was outside. Their appetizer hour had beautiful tables for all types of fresh food. They choose not to do a traditional cake cutting and instead cut a pineapple, they really love fruit! During dinner, there were many speeches. Anyone who wanted to wish the happy couple good luck was able to speak. There were laughter and tears throughout the evening. They ended the evening with a first dance and then open dancing under the stars.
It was a beautiful evening and I am so happy I was able to be part of it. Congratulations Andrey and Karen!
