This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting some truly amazing and inspiring seniors from East Nashville all due to an incredible organize called Touchstone Youth Resource Services. Touchstone puts on an event each year called Your Best Shot. This event brings together local photographers who give their time and talent to deserving students who otherwise might not get their senior pictures taken. I was happy to participate as a Nashville Senior Photographer and I’m so glad I did. These are amazing students and just being around them was such a great experience. The Eastwood Christian Church let us use their property for all our photography needs, and they have so many great places to take pictures.
The first girl I was able to photograph is the first in her family to go to college. She has a full ride scholarship to Belmont and she loves to dance. Her smile is so fun and bright and literally brought out the sunshine to start the day.
My next senior was such dapper young man. He’s into track and field. He has great future plans that involve the honor of military service. His smile glows and the best part was when he saw his pictures and was so excited about how they turned out.
The beauty in red was radiant for her senior pictures. She’s a tennis player at her high school and has big college plans that involve going to school in Nashville and then MTSU. We also had the opportunity to get a few pictures with her cousin who was also there at the same time getting her pictures taken.
My fourth senior girl is a twin and we had a lot of fun with her pictures. We started casually and then got dressy. While her twin brother was taking pictures with another photographer we took all her solo shots and then meet up to get sibling pictures. They were so fun and darling. I love their smiles, it’s great to see a brother-sister duo getting along so well. These sibling shots were a collaboration between another photographer and me, which in itself was a lot of fun.
After taking each students pictures we’d meet back inside and go over their pictures with them, picking favorites and editing them right on the spot. That was half the fun of it. getting to see the raw emotion and on the spot reactions to the pictures, we had just taken. So much excitement in one day. After everything was said and done, touchstone gave each senior a disc of their favorite images with a print release form and they also got an 8×10 image printed on the spot. It was an amazing event and if you are a local Nashville senior photographer and want to get involved I urge you to do so, You won’t regret it.
Stay tuned for Behind the Scenes shots of all the action coming this week.
