What an amazing year! Like all years it had its ups and downs but I will say for K Schulz Photography it’s been a banner year. Here is a quick glimpse at this years minnesota pet photography

Fun Stats about my photography this year

  • 81 rescue pets (stand tuned for a seperate blog just for those photos!)
  • 420 pets were in front of my lens this year
  • 31 pet cats (which is a new record for cat sessions)
  • 173 mini sessions
  • chinchilla, guinea pigs and hamsters
  • 11 birds
  • one snake
  • one turtle
  • composite of 16 pets into one photo (5 different species together)
  • Photo session at the new Ice Palace
  • attempt at capturing the northern lights with pets included

I loved this year, it was both exhilarating and exhausting. My favorite sessions included luscious sunrises and epic snowstorms. I added two new animals to my photographed list, heres hoping for more this coming year.

This year a new winter activity opened (Ice Palace MN) and was dog friendly so I definitely took full advantage of that! I did my outdoor valentine minis which I love but those had to be broken up into several days due to the tempt falling to negative 20 on the original session date.

I had more pet cats both in home and outdoor sessions that any year prior (yay cats!) I once again offered flowering tree sessions which were stunning sunrise sessions this year. I also offered a new mini to incorporate water fun. those were definitely a hit and might just have to come back again this year. I enjoyed several nights at the sunflower fields up at green barn garden center.

Paddle boarding with your pups was something I had the pleasure of capturing this year. As well as seeing the behind the scenes of dryland racing. I partnered with rescue network again this year as well as cray legs pumpkin farm to put on another great year of photos with session proceeds going to the rescue. I worked with several local pet businesses to put on indoor mini sessions for the holidays.

Overall I’d say it was a great year but I hope we can top it in 2024. Whose in?!?!
