As 2024 draws to a close, I’m reflecting on an incredible year as a pet photographer with K Schulz Photography. This year has been filled with wagging tails, wet noses, and so many joyful moments captured forever. I’m thrilled to share that I photographed over 400 pets this year! Here is my 2024 year in review and here’s how the numbers broke down:
- Mini Sessions: 47. outdoor location specific minis ranging from valentine minis to sunflowers to tree farm
- Micro Minis: 123 sessions held at local pet businesses. short and sweet moments to have you fur babies memories captured from valentines minis to holiday minis
- Full Sessions: 40, 9 of which were helping people capture their wonderful babies just days before they had to be laid to rest
- Model Sessions: 9 times I did model calls for specific reasons from needing a creative outlet, to video model, to helping market an upcoming event.
One of the highlights of my year (and every year) was volunteering to photograph 56 rescue pets. Whether in my backyard or at our annual Tonkadale event, it was a privilege to help these animals find their forever homes through beautiful portraits. Every year myself and photographer friends Kirsten (KME Photography) and Lauren (Scrufflife Photography) get together at Tonkadale in Minnetonka to photograph as many fosters as possible to help them get adopted.
I also had the honor of photographing several exciting events, including Canines for Clearwater for Minneapolis Parks and Rec and the Animal Humane Society’s Walk for Animals. These events brought the community together to celebrate the bond between humans and their pets, and it was a joy to be part of it all.
Collaboration was a key part of this year’s success. I teamed up with 7 amazing local businesses to host pet photography mini sessions at their pet-friendly locations. These partnerships not only brought unique settings to my photoshoots but also strengthened our local pet-loving community.
As I look ahead to 2025, I’m filled with gratitude for every furry friend and their families who made this year so special. Thank you for trusting me to capture the moments that matter most. Here’s to another year of tail wags and heartwarming memories!
I also got to experience the northern lights not one but twice! which was a huge bucket list item for me.
