2020 oh what a year: minnesota Photographer

A year in review of a minnesota photographer

As everyone already knows 2020 has been a very different year. For some there have been minor inconveniences for others it’s been the hardest year of their life.

2020 for K Schulz Photography was both hard at times and good at others

It started off strong with several winter weddings. We had already planned a short break in March for a long overdue vacation… this turned into a 3 month pause of photography which was anything but easy.

When lockdown and restrictions were lifted enough for photographers to work again legally and safely things started up slowly. A few tiny weddings and some rescue pup photography to finish off spring.

During the summer we found out we are expecting another bundle of joy which was great news. That news made covid precautions even more important. I no longer offered indoor shoots and started limiting weddings to very small gatherings.

We did a lot of fun mini sessions this summer and fall. Sunflowers, fall colors, tree farms and red couch minis were all super fun and it was a great chance to see so many returning clients as well as new smiley faces.

Although this year was different it still was a great year for photographing so many things I love. With not doing indoor images I did miss out on most cat photography which I’ve missed greatly. I did lots of rescue dog photography but not nearly as many puppy litters as I have in the past.

It’ll be awhile before my photography goes back to normal completely. Once winter subsides I will be on maternity leave for a while. But come summer 2021 I look forward to photographing all the things I love again and seeing everyone again.
